Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)

The CFE credential, accredited by Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), USA, is globally recognized as the standard of excellence in the anti-fraud profession. It requires passing a rigorous four-part exam. CFEs possess a unique skill set combining financial transaction knowledge with investigative techniques, legal understanding, and fraud resolution expertise. Their skills include tracing fraudulent transactions, interviewing suspects, writing reports, advising clients, and testifying in court.

Eligibility Requirements

To become a CFE, candidates must:

  • Be an ACFE associate member in good standing.
  • Meet minimum academic and professional requirements.
  • Possess high moral character and agree to abide by the ACFE’s bylaws and Code of Professional Ethics

Certification Process

CFE Certification is a five stage process:

Step 1: Join the ACFE as Associate Member.

Step 2: Prepare for the CFE Exam either by self-study or through Prep Courses.

Step 3: Apply for CFE Exam.

Step 4: Take CFE Exam. This involves 4 Two-hour Sessions for each Section.

Step 5: Upon passing all 4 sections, get your CFE badge.
